God Is Not A ModerateSam Harris (a bestselling atheist author) and Andrew Sullivan (a very intelligent Catholic blogger and political commentator) debate the nature of faith and religion. This is long, but please read it all the way through, digest it thoroughly, and respond with how it makes you feel. Debates and discussions like this are the only thing that's going to help this country at its core, and I think both sides can totally agree on that. I'm really interested to hear what everyone thinks about this. Thanks, Dan

I still need to read the whole thing again to even begin talking about it - they're too smart for me. In the meantime, though, Andrew Sullivan responded a while ago, but it wasn't up on Richard Dawkins' site. www.beliefnet.com/story/214/story_21446_1.html...Ok, they were too smart for me. Now it's just Sam Harris who's too smart. In his last two posts, Andrew Sullivan totally breaks down, first to "I believe in God 'cause I'm afraid to die," and then - in response to Sam Harris's asking what's the difference between never having existed before and someday not existing anymore - "I can't imagine I'll stop existing, because Jesus loves me." I can't wait to see how Sam Harris responds, but it's not going to be pretty or easy to read.
